WMHE

14th International Symposium on Water Management and Hydraulic Engineering was September 8th to 10th 2015.

WMHE 2015 was the 14th International Symposium in the field of Water Management and Hydraulic Engineering. The original bilateral symposium between civil engineering faculties of Gdansk University of Technology (Poland) and University of Zagreb (Croatia) has been spread to more partner universities – Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (Macedonia), BOKU University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna (Austria) as well as Brno University of Technology – BUT (Czech Republic). The meetings provide a unique forum for exchange of experience, presentation and discussion of recent research work on different aspects of water and environmental management, including physical and mathematical modelling.

The aim of the conference is to encourage and facilitate the interdisciplinary communication among scientists, engineers and professionals working in water management and hydraulic engineering. This conference contributes to these goals by inviting the experts from Central Europe that are the members of EU as well as the experts from the South-East-Europe countries, which are not member states yet. The main idea is to exchange experience in the field of water management and hydraulic engineering including aspects of ecosystems and sustainable development. This successful series started in 1984 and nowadays it is regularly organised as a two-annual symposium meeting.

Symposium Themes:

  1. Hydraulics and hydromechanics
  2. Hydrology and river basin management
  3. Sanitary and environmental engineering
  4. Sustainable water use, water resources
  5. Geotechnical engineering, groundwater hydraulics, erosion control
  6. Hydraulic structures, monitoring
  7. Risk and reliability analysis in water management
